Vinous Neal Martin - 06 Jun 24
The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Derrière La Grange 1er Cru included 22% whole bunches at the time. It's a bit rustic on the nose but has more fruit presence than some other Côte de Nuits reds. There are scents of mulberry, sage, curry leaf and cumin. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins and attenuates somewhat towards the finish. Fine acidity, lightly spiced, but a little conservative and dry. Drink over the next 5 to 6 years.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
